Questions
Is Zaala a loan?
No. You pay for your care in advance, a little each week. There is no interest and nothing to pay back.
Why not just save the money myself?
Money at home often gets spent on other needs. With Zaala it is already at your clinic, your price is locked in, you get weekly reminders, and your care is paid for when labour starts. See the Why Zaala page for all the benefits.
Where does my money go?
Straight to your clinic's own MTN MoMo or Airtel Money pay code. Zaala never holds your money.
How does the clinic know I paid?
After paying, enter the amount and the transaction ID from your mobile money SMS on your Zaala page. The clinic confirms it against their records.
Does Zaala charge me?
No. Zaala is free for mothers. Clinics pay us a monthly subscription.
What if I miss a week?
That's okay. Pay more the next week. We'll remind you what's left.
What if I haven't paid everything by my due date?
Your clinic can see what you have paid. Talk to them about paying the balance at delivery.
What if I need to change clinic or stop my plan?
Contact your clinic and Zaala. Refunds and transfers follow the agreement with your clinic.
How do clinics join?
They register online. We verify their licence and pay code before mothers can choose them.
